Hotel Pickup – Drive to Kande
In the morning, after breakfast at your hotel, our cab and guide will be waiting. Your journey begins with a comfortable drive from Pokhara Lakeside to Kande (30–45 minutes). Moreover, the road winds through small settlements and green hills, setting the stage for your Australian Camp day hike.
Kande – Hike to Australian Camp
From Kande, your uphill hike begins. The trail gradually ascends through rhododendron forests and stone-paved steps. It takes about 1–1.5 hours to reach Australian Camp (2,050 m).
At the top, enjoy sweeping mountain panoramas of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Dhaulagiri, and the striking Machapuchare peak.
Note: In addition, hikers who want to trek further can continue up to Pothana. Therefore, this itinerary is flexible based on your preference.
Australian Camp – Trek Down to Dhampus
After enjoying ridge-top views and a tea break at a lodge, the trail descends to Dhampus village (1,650 m). This stretch takes about 1–1.5 hours.
Along the way, you pass Gurung homes, terraced fields, and village paths. Consequently, this section offers both cultural experiences and stunning Himalayan scenery. Dhampus is one of the best spots near Pokhara to observe mountains and authentic village life in a single frame.
Dhampus – Hike Down to Phedi
From Dhampus, the trail continues downward through stone steps and forested paths to Phedi (1,050 m, about 1.5–2 hours). The descent is steady and rewarding. In addition, there are plenty of opportunities to pause and enjoy valley views.
Drive Back to Pokhara Lakeside
At Phedi, a private vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Pokhara Lakeside (30–40 minutes). Consequently, you will arrive by late afternoon, with time to relax by the lake, enjoy a meal, or explore Pokhara’s local markets.
